For 20 years, TCSJOHNHUXLEY has held a major presence in the South African gaming industry. Having been instrumental in assisting with the introduction of supplier gaming regulations, and having delivered innovative products and services to the market, it's no wonder why TCSJOHNHUXLEY products have been installed at every South African casino opening since the early 1970s.

Prior to 2003, TCSJOHNHUXLEY was two separate companies – TCS, who supplied state-of-the-art electronic products and John Huxley, who supplied traditional gaming products. Both companies imported from the UK and held a presence in the South African market.

During 1994, when the National Gaming Authority (NGA) legalised the supply of gaming equipment on a permanent basis, John Huxley was the first supplier to obtain their permanent licence; the reference on their licence is '001'. In anticipation of the growth of gambling, John Huxley invested in their first South African office.
In 1998, John Whiskin joined the company – the current Managing Director of TCSJOHNHUXLEY Africa – and decided to manufacture locally in Midrand instead of continuing to import. At the same time, he also decided to combine the Sandton head office and warehouse facility, centralising the business.

As the industry grew, casinos started obtaining permanent licenses to operate in Africa, which soon generated demand for new and innovative products. John took this challenge in stride and quickly built lasting relationships, which today have lead him to be a part of every turnkey project within all the major casino operators.
In 2003, TCS and John Huxley strengthened their brands in a strategic merge to become TCSJOHNHUXLEY – an organisation capable of providing clients with everything needed to open a casino, and more. This merge lead John Whiskin to relocate the business again, however this time into a purpose-built office in Midrand, which is home to TCSJOHNHUXLEY Africa today.

Over the years, TCSJOHNHUXLEY Africa has formed several relationships that have helped to shape the gaming industry. In the early 2000's they teamed up with Fournier Playing Cards and now hold 100% of the card market in South Africa. Likewise, in 2005, they gained exclusive African distribution rights for Matsui Chips, which today remain the first choice in gaming chips.

With many successful partnerships and client relationships behind them, TCSJOHNHUXLEY quickly became the preferred supplier of gaming equipment on the African continent. As gaming took hold and its popularity expanded, so too did the opportunities for operators.

Casinos started opening throughout Africa and TCSJOHNHUXLEY had the honour of supplying the equipment. It was then that John and his team began providing product and service support, as well as building strong relationships with, Kairo International and Millionaires groups. Today, TCSJOHNHUXLEY products and services cover over 20 of their casinos throughout the African continent.

Over the years, TCSJOHNHUXLEY has transformed the nature of traditional gaming by introducing the idea of completely electronic table games. With the assistance of the renowned Lydia Ludic Group, TCSJOHNHUXLEY has taken West Africa by storm with products such as the MultiPLAY Auto HD Roulette system and the innovative DigiDeal table, which satisfy the need for live electronic gaming. This was a first, not only for TCSJOHNHUXLEY, but for the African continent as well.

Today, 20 years later, TCSJOHNHUXLEY Africa remains the first name in gaming on the continent; John Whiskin and his team continue to set a benchmark that is hard to beat. With this anniversary, TCSJOHNHUXLEY look forward to continuing to evolve both themselves and the greater gaming industry, extending a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped make the last two decades spectacular.
