****DAPH Spring 2014 Briefings****
SOUTH & WEST REGION
Wednesday 5 February 2014
(arrival from 8.30am) 9.00am - 1.00pm followed by lunch Buckfast Abbey Conference Centre
Attendee List as at 16/01/14
*** NORTH & EAST REGION Tuesday 11 February 2014
(arrival from 8.30am) 9.00am - 1.00pm followed by lunch
The Tiverton Hotel, Tiverton
We are currently finalising the agenda for this term's events which we have shortened to a half day (morning) followed by lunch. In response recent feedback and issues raised by schools, the focus of these Briefings will be around the newly launched Early Help Strategy, Threshold Tool, Safeguarding and Child Protection.
Headteachers will be provided with an update on the actions being taken following the Ofsted inspection of DCC Child Protection arrangements, an overview of emerging operational structures in terms of the Early Help Strategy and how this will affect procedural policy for schools e.g. enquiries made to MASH during this interim period and ultimately following full implementation.
We aim to help you unpick the bigger picture; understand how it all fits together, the impact of new processes upon schools when supporting the most vulnerable children in our care.
There will also be an update on Education & Learning Matters from Sue Clarke, Head of Education and Learning together with the opportunity to discuss and submit questions on the agenda content.
The outline agenda and guest speakers will be:
-
Update on Education & Learning Matters Sue Clarke, Head of Education & Learning, DCC
-
Introduction & Outline of Emerging Structures for Child Protection and Early Help Strategy Martyn Boxall, DAPH Chair
-
Early Help Strategy & Proposed Operational Structure Virginia Pearson, Director of Public Health, DCC
-
Update on MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub) Karen Morris, Senior Manager, Early Help & Access, DCC
Please review the attendee lists above to confirm we have received your booking or, if you have yet to reserve your place, please click here to book on line.
We look forward to welcoming you at one of these events.
Please note: Pre-bookings for the Briefings and lunch are essential to enable us to plan for comfortable seating and catering arrangements. Due to a number of no shows at recent Briefings which incur unnecessary costs for DAPH, a charge of £40 will be passed on to schools in the absence of notice of cancellation at least 5 working days prior to the event unless due to an Ofsted Inspection.
