YBDSA Newsletter Autumn Issue

Autumn 2013

Welcome to the Autumn 2013 edition

Autumn heralds the Southampton Boat Show and other boat shows that many of you are involved with. I hope these go well for you. Can I urge you to use the ABYA/YDSA/PCA logos when you can on stands, advertising (when you are allowed to!) and other stationery. Brand awareness of your professional association means potential clients will look for you as members. The AGM is around the corner – we will be in Portsmouth Dockyard and there will be an opportunity for you to look around as well as attend meetings. Kay and I had a whistle-stop tour of the new Mary Rose exhibition – it is fantastic! So put 18/19 November in your diary now!

We are always keen to hear from members who would be interested in putting their names forward to sit on committees – it is important we maintain a turnover and your input really makes a difference. Don't be shy – give me a call to discuss if you are interested.

Kind regards,
Jane Gentry,
CEO of YBDSA, ABYA and YDSA

Flying the PCA flag

PCA members flying the flag during Cowes Week this year were pleased to report that none of them were boarded by MCA. PCA has an arrangement with MCA that members are accepted as being properly coded. PCA members have access to a folder which lists all the documentation they require to assist them. (MCA reserves the right to board, however, if they believe there is an infringement).
